The streets of İzmir are always cheerful and active. The sounds of seagulls, the sounds of the ferry, the music of street musicians and the whistling of the kingfisher will accompany you as you wander the streets of İzmir. If you have the chance, you can listen to the arias of the artists rehearsing in the State Opera and Ballet building. This building, located right next to National Library and now used as the State Opera and Ballet building, was known as Alhambra Theatre for many years. Since 1982, the theatre has served as the State Opera and Ballet Building and has been home to opera and ballet performances.
